There is a very good way to mod Wii without tampering with the hardware or buying any modchips, and that way is to Mod Wii with SD card. All you need is a SD card that lets you upload file to your Wii, and an internet connection that lets you download the installation files to your SD card.
Once you mod your Wii you will be able to do lot more than you usually use your Nintendo Wii for. Here is a list of benefits you get if you mod your Wii with a SD card.

4. Play emulators – You can play emulators that can play classic console games like Nintendo 64 and Sega genesis. If you ever played these consoles before then you are going to have a wonderful time playing all the classic games like Contra again.
5. Every Nintendo Wii game has a regional code encrypted in the disk. This means that if you buy a game in USA, you can’t play it on a Nintendo Wii from Japan, and vice versa. Unless, you mod your Wii. Those Japanese games are in Japanese but many of the Japanese games are fun to play even without understanding what they are saying. Once you mod your Wii, you can play games from other regions without any hassle.
6. If you unlock your Wii using a mod chip, you don’t risk voiding your warranty. Don’t use a mod chip and you don’t need to buy or rent any game like Zelda: twilight princess to do it. Like I said before all you need is SD card and an internet connection.
With all the benefits available with practically no cost at all, it becomes mandatory for every Wii owner to mod their Wii. Make sure you follow the correct procedure and don’t fall for any scams that are on the internet.
